These are times when you may question your career choice, however the first time an animal's life is saved you will remember why you decided to be a vet tech.
You can prepare for a vet tech career by attending a two-year program at an accredited educational facility. To find one, do some online research or check the yellow pages for colleges and universities in your local area. After completing your education you must take the state exam and get licensed before you can actually get a job. If you need to work while getting your education, a job as a kennel assistant or even a pet store associate can get you experienced in working closely with animals.
